Picture day is a big day for students and parents.

But it can also be a bit stressful if you don't know what to wear. To make sure your child looks their best, I put together a list of some tips to help you dress your child for picture day.

Wear clothes that fit

When putting outfits together for your little one, it's important to find clothes that fit them just right. Wearing clothes that fit correctly and are wrinkle-free will help your child look their best for picture day. Additionally, clothes that are free of graphics or logos will minimize any distractions from their face.

Dress Comfortably

Dress your child in something he or she feels comfortable in. Nothing is worse than having your kiddo feeling uncomfortable during picture day and having their facial expression show it. If you find a photo that you absolutely want them to wear, please bring them a change of clothes for the rest of the day. Remember, photos will only take a couple of minutes to take.

MAKE SURE THEIR HAIR IS CLEAN AND NEAT

I typically take their photos as soon as they are checked in. This helps to preserve their appearance as best as possible. Their hair doesn't need to be blown out or styled, but make sure there aren't any tangles or knots in their hair.

WEAR SOLID COLORS

Solid colors are a timeless look and help to keep things simple. A great place for solid colors is Old Navy. I would also keep patterns or stripes at a minimum if possible. Again, avoid logos and graphics on clothes; they're distracting in photos and take away from your child's face, which should be the focus.

DRESS IN LAYERS

With the weather changing every week, it's best to dress your kids in layers. This also looks great in photos as well. This will help them be prepared for most weather conditions and look their best! An example of dressing in layers would be having a t-shirt, with a button-up shirt unbuttoned, and a jean jacket. For bottoms, this could look like a dress or skirt with leggings.

Conclusion

Be yourself and bring a smile to school. Above all else, wear what makes you feel comfortable. If you feel good about what you're wearing, you will look great in your school picture!
